PUE?

  • A measure of a facility's total power delivered divided by its IT equipment power usage level gives a total power usage effectiveness (PUE) figure.

A = UPS modules, Switchgear, Generators, Power distribution units & Batteries
B = Total power loads also include cooling and environmental system components such as: Chillers, Computer room air-conditioning, Direct expansion air handler (DX) units, Pumps, Cooling towers, Security systems & Lighting
C = IT equipment power is defined as the devices used to manage, route, store, or process data within a data centre. These include: Computers (desktop, workstation, laptop and servers), Storage devices, Network equipment, KVM / Monitors / Sensors and distribution losses external to the IT equipment

( B + C ) ~ A : PUE is 1.0

∴ PUE = TOTAL POWER ÷ IT EQUIPMENT POWER
